In installations with a 48V Mild Hybrid system and an expanded control unit network, the power bus carries high continuous loads. Cable damage most often occurs during improper battery removal (bending the eyelet terminal, tearing the wire strand bundle at the connector) or as a result of loosening the mounting screw, leading to arcing and burning of the contact. This results in voltage drops, random CAN bus control unit errors, and problems waking up the installation.
