Due to the high torque transmitted by the multi-rib belt during engine starting by the 48V alternator, this bracket is subjected to enormous torsional forces. Body cracking, wear of the screw holes, or bending of the bracket after a collision leads to belt misalignment, squealing, accelerated wear of the alternator bearings, or the accessory belt slipping off.
