Original VAG electronic component forming part of the access authorization and immobilizer system. It consists of a sealed plastic housing, a ferrite core with precisely wound low-frequency (LF – Low Frequency, approx. 125 kHz) coil, and a 2-pin sealed connector. The antenna is responsible for short-range wireless communication with the factory key (verifying the key's presence in the cabin, trunk, or near the door handles), enabling immediate unlocking upon touching the handle, engine starting with the Start/Stop button, and keyless opening of the tailgate with a foot gesture.

Each antenna undergoes an internal coil resistance measurement with an ohmmeter and a short-to-ground test before being prepared for shipping.

Fitment / installation tip: The initial designation 4M0 (body electronics group 907 / 247) defines the standardized antenna module for the MLBevo platform. Antenna failure, flooding, or mechanical damage is indicated by a message on the instrument cluster: “Key not recognized – hold the key in the designated area”, no response when touching the handle, inability to start the car with the Start button, or a central locking / comfort module (BCM2 – J393) error: B116A / B116B / B116C (Access and start authorization system antenna: short to ground / open circuit). Replacing a damaged antenna with a functional OEM module does not require coding or removing component protection – the control unit immediately resumes normal operation.
